Eleanor Roosevelt, 1884-1962. First Lady, 1933-1945. Typed Letter Signed, Eleanor Roosevelt, one page, 8" x 10½", on stationery of the United States Delegation to the General Assembly of the United Nations, October 31, 1950. Eleanor, then a member of the United States Delgation to the United Nations, writes to help a correspondent. In part: “The correct office to obtain the information you want is the United Nations Office of Public Information, and I see that you have written to them. I am sure they will be able to help you.” Eleanor, one of the most popular First Ladies in American history, served twice as a member of the United States Delegation to the United Nations. The letter is in very fine condition. It has two horizontal and one vertical mailing fold, a few wrinkles, and two small stains on the right edge. Eleanor has boldly signed in blue fountain pen.
